2023 Networking Cocktail Night
Thursday, 11th May
QT Rooftop Bar
2023's annual Cocktail Night was a tremendous success, bringing together over 100 university students and over 40 industry representatives. The event was hosted at QT Rooftop Bar with a stunning view of the city. Throughout the evening, students had the opportunity to engage with industry representatives and broaden their contacts and professional interests.
SAGE Automation Tour
Wednesday, 16th August
Sage Automation, Burswood
WiECD were thrilled to host our SAGE Automation Office Tour! Students had the incredible opportunity to engage in a hands-on lab where they programmed a PLC to control a conveyor belt system. They were also given an insightful presentation about industrial control principles, taken on a tour around the office, and got to see some of the exciting projects they are working on.
2023 Sundowner

The Oasis, Henry Summer
In semester 2, WiECD we hosted our Sundowner at Henry Summer, bringing students and industry together!
Students had the opportunity to engage with our sponsor representatives from a range of industries while enjoying some delicious bites and refreshing sips. It was inspiring to see everyone actively participating and engaging in discussions.
Rio Tinto Operations Centre Tour

Rio Tinto Operations Centre, Perth Airport
WiECD was excited to share the Rio Operations Centre tour to students. During the tour, students had the opportunity to inquire about various aspects of the Operations Centre, followed by an insightful presentation from a founding member of WIECD who has been a long-time employee. The session concluded with a delightful lunch and networking opportunity, allowing students to connect with graduate engineers.

IWD Morning Tea

On the 8th of March, WiECD's committee members joined AECOM in their International Women's Day Morning Tea to celebrate the achievements of women and the women figures who inspire us.
Our committee had the opportunity to experience insightful panel discussions on both personal as well as career experiences of inspiring women in the industry.
